How to Listen and Hear God: An Introduction

The scripture tells us clearly and verbatim, “Be still and know that I am God.” Yet, why do we struggle to hear Him? Why do we find it difficult to feel that incredible passion and strong desire to yearn for His presence? What are we missing?

In our busy lives, it’s easy to become disconnected from the divine. But hearing God isn’t about grand gestures or rare moments of divine intervention. It’s about developing a consistent, meaningful relationship with Him through daily practices and an honest heart.

In this series, I will explore the five essential steps to truly hear and connect with God:

  1. The Connection: Establishing a direct link with God.
  2. The Talk: Engaging in meaningful, two-way communication.
  3. The Relationship: Building a deep, personal bond.
  4. The Desire: Craving a heartfelt yearning for His presence.
  5. The Love: Welcoming an intense, unwavering love for God.

Each of these steps can be accomplished with persistence and dedication. Through this series, I will dive into each step in detail, providing useful guidance and biblical examples to help you identify your connection with God.

In the upcoming posts, I’ll explore each step individually, drawing on the stories of biblical characters whose experiences provide insights and inspiration. By following their journeys, we can learn how to better listen for and hear God’s voice in our own lives.

Join me on this spiritual journey as we strive to connect, communicate, build relationships, desire, and ultimately love God. Stay tuned for the first installment, where we’ll dive into the importance of making a real connection with God.
